Encampment Perspective
Encampments in Odd Fellowship are gatherings of experienced and knowledgeable 3rd degree Odd Fellows where they share ideas and pool resources to lift up all area lodges and members. Encampments also provide a platform for leadership development, historical exploration, and inter-lodge networking.
The Encampment level is known as Patriarchal Odd Fellowship, reflecting their role as wise guides. Encampments bring together members from multiple lodges, train new leaders, and offer opportunities to learn about Odd Fellowship's history and symbolism. Encampment degrees expand on regular Lodge degrees, teaching important lessons.
The first Encampment, Jerusalem #1, was established in 1827. Since then, Encampments have served as a valuable and essential aspect of the Odd Fellow experience, allowing members to engage with other lodge's senior members, as well as pool resources and knowledge.
If you are a 3rd degree Odd Fellow, consider joining an Encampment to enhance your understanding and involvement in Odd Fellowship.
